Privacy Policy for IN::SPACE

This Privacy Policy explains how Bound Dynamics, operating out of South Africa, collects, uses, and protects your information when you interact with the InSpace Telegram bot (@InSpace_bot). We are committed to the minimalist ethos of this game: we only collect the data strictly necessary to run your space economy simulation and fulfill your purchases. We do not track you, we do not read your personal chats, and we do not sell your data.

Information We Collect

When you interact with the InSpace bot (e.g., by sending /start), we automatically collect the following information provided by the Telegram API:

  • Telegram User ID — a unique numeric identifier used as your primary account ID in our database to save your game progress.
  • Telegram Username & First Name — used purely for in-game display purposes on your operator dashboard (e.g., OPERATOR: Cmdr_Vega).
  • Game State Data — your in-game credits, cargo inventory (in kg), ship coordinates, and upgrade statuses.
  • Transaction Logs (Telegram Stars) — if you purchase premium upgrades using Telegram Stars (XTR), we log the provider_payment_charge_id and the item purchased to grant your digital goods and prevent fraud. We never see, collect, or store your credit card information. All financial processing is handled natively by Telegram.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To save and load your persistent game state across sessions.
  • To calculate asynchronous game events (e.g., travel timers, cargo spoilage, and market drift).
  • To verify and fulfill in-game purchases made with Telegram Stars.

Telegram Platform Compliance

In strict adherence to the Telegram Bot Platform Developer Terms of Service:

  • No Data Scraping — we do not collect, aggregate, or process data beyond what is essential for the operation of the game. We do not use your data to train machine learning models or AI products.
  • No Chat Surveillance — the bot only processes explicit commands (e.g., /mine, /dashboard) and button clicks. We do not read, log, or store the contents of your personal Telegram messages.
  • No Advertising — we do not use your data, chats, or contact lists to serve advertisements.

Third-Party Infrastructure

To keep the universe running, your game data is stored securely using the following third-party infrastructure:

  • Nhost & Hasura — our backend database (PostgreSQL) and serverless functions are hosted via Nhost. Data is transmitted securely via GraphQL APIs.
  • Telegram — the platform through which you access the game and process Stars (XTR) payments.

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to any other third parties.

Data Retention and Your Rights

We retain your game state data for as long as your account is active. Under Telegram's requirements and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to request the complete deletion of your data.

If you wish to wipe your operator profile, forfeit your fleet, and delete your data from our servers, you can send the /deleteaccount command to the bot, or contact support. Once executed, this action is irreversible.
